If you follow me on Twitter, you know that on Saturday night I about gave up on these stairs in the middle of it because I thought it was looking terrible. But, I got some words of encouragement from Courtney (Courtney Out Loud) that were much appreciated. I'm glad I stuck with it!
I used garland from WalMart (the same garland I used last year) and then added the string of gold beads from Hobby Lobby.
The gold bells were also found at Hobby Lobby.
I added decorative snowflakes and star ornaments that my mom gave me. The pine cones provide a natural element.
And now the tree is up where the chair and table were:) If you'd like to look at last year's stairs, you can go HERE.

Hello from Spain! i liked a lot the stair last year but definitly i prefer the gold ones!
ReplyDeletebest wishes
I think you did such a good job! The gold beads are my favorite- they keep it from looking cliche by adding such a dash of fun. And i think the bells are done really tastefully. It looks really great!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I have some bells like yours that the hubs got at Lowe's. I put them on my big wreath on my gate outside. Looking forward to seeing your tree.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!! All of your hard work was totally with it! I love all of the details! Great job.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous!! I love it.
ReplyDeleteI love your staircase! This makes me want to build a staircase somewhere in my house just so I can decorate it for christmas. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteYay!!! I'm so excited that I won!!! First time for everything, I guess. Thanks for the opportunity. Your stairs look lovely, btw!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so beautiful! I'm definitely getting out the Christmas bins this weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful! You did such a great job!
ReplyDeleteI think it turned out really pretty. I've always loved the gold at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI did something similar many years ago in my home; I had a maple railing and did garland with a gold sheer wire ribbon (gives it some substance)-the gold organza ribbon had gold and silver threads in it. I used white lights on the garland and then hung crystal and glass ornaments (some were clear and some had gold or silver on them, mostly gold)on the garland. The gold looked amazing with the maple staircase. They shimmered and caught the light and it was truly breathtaking.
I loooove your staircase. We are a few years away from building and this is at the top of my MUST list! :) It looks fantastic!
ReplyDeletebeautiful job! I never would have known it was a 'mess' in the middle of it. Same thing happens to me ALL the time!
ReplyDeleteThat is an amazing idea. And while I know this is just for a Christmas idea you could also do it for a bit of romance. Maybe put some loving message to your partner going up the stairs to the bedroom.
